Mike Jeffries

Mike Jeffries, born in 1944 or 1945, is an American businessman who served as the CEO of clothing retailer Abercrombie & Fitch from 1992 to 2014. During his tenure, Abercrombie & Fitch transformed from a struggling brand into a lifestyle giant, grossing $2 billion annually by 2006. Jeffries faced criticism for using semi-nude models in advertising, selling clothes with insensitive slogans, and targeting only the “cool kids.” In 2023, he was named in a civil class-action lawsuit alleging sex trafficking involving over 100 young men. His controversial reign left a lasting impact on the company’s image.
