Sonia Sotomayor

Sonia Maria Sotomayor, born on June 25, 1954, in New York City, is an American lawyer and jurist. She serves as an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, having been nominated by President Barack Obama in 2009. As the first Hispanic and third woman on the High Court, Sotomayor has made notable rulings on issues such as Miranda warnings, the Affordable Care Act, and immigration.
