Tamayo Perry

Tamayo Perry, born on April 15, 1975, was a renowned big-wave surfer, lifeguard, and actor. Hailing from Oahu, Hawaii, he gained fame for his brilliant tube-riding performances and won the prestigious Pipeline Masters Trials in 1999. Perry appeared in the film “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” and was known for his surfing at Teahupo’o in Tahiti. Tragically, he lost his life in a shark attack off the north shore of Oahu in June 2024. His legacy as a waterman and his commitment to surf safety will be remembered.
